A contemporary art gallery in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
Ste. Genevieve, MO
12pm - 4pm
Located in downtown Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, our gallery brings new life to a building with deep roots — originally built in 1848 as a German bakery and now reimagined as a space for art and culture.
The front half of the building now houses the art gallery, with the rear half set to open later this year as a cozy wine bar. This thoughtfully restored space reflects the spirit of Ste. Genevieve itself — a town known for its rich French Colonial heritage, creative energy, and commitment to preserving its past while embracing the present.
The gallery features the work of acclaimed artist Bryan Haynes, whose paintings offer a contemporary take on traditional Midwestern themes. His vivid depictions of local landscapes, legends, and cultural identity are a perfect fit for a town that values history and storytelling as much as artistry.
The Grand opening of the gallery will occur June 27th, 6-9 pm, at the regular Fourth Friday Art Walk, showcasing the Galleries of the Art Community of Ste Genevieve. The Artist will be in attendance that evening, and wine and hors-d'oeuvres will be available. The Gallery will, subsequently, be open every Saturday and Sunday, noon to four pm, with art available for viewing and purchase.
Lodging is available overnight, at the nearby historical air BB's of Dr Hertich's House at 99N Main (co-owned with the gallery) as well as the nearby Main St Inn, and The Inn St. Gemme. Stay and enjoy the art and culture, visit the National Park, Art Guild and multiple Museum's available in this very special small town.
Bryan Haynes is a leading figure in the New Regionalism art movement — a style that builds on the legacy of American Regionalism with a modern, personal lens.
Rooted in the landscapes and lore of the Midwest, Haynes' work captures the essence of everyday life, natural beauty, and cultural heritage through richly detailed, realist imagery. His art reflects a deep reverence for the past while offering a fresh and timeless perspective, making his work both visually compelling and historically meaningful. The culture between the two major rivers that define Missouri comes alive in his images of the French and the Osage, and of the hardships of early pioneers who settled this rich and beautiful land.
As the featured artist in our gallery, Bryan Haynes’ paintings bring a distinct sense of place and purpose to the space — resonating with the historical charm and cultural richness that define Ste. Genevieve.
Located in the same beautifully restored historic building as the gallery, French Sisters Wine Bar is set to open later this year.
This inviting space will offer a curated selection of wines in a warm, welcoming atmosphere — the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the art gallery.
Just steps from downtown Ste. Genevieve’s main attractions, French Sisters will pair perfectly with the cultural charm and rich history of Ste. Genevieve.
